First connection to C-Gate IoT Connector

Direct connection

  1. Connect the IoT Connector to your PC/laptop via Ethernet cable and make sure that it does not use a static IP address. The corresponding connection options are shown in figures 1 and 2.
  2. Call up the address of the IoT Connectors in the web browser. This consists of http:// and the IP address designated on the label as ETH1 (see figure 1 and 2).
    Example: http://169.254.128.76
  3. Log in with the user data printed on the label.
  4. Configure the network settings according to your requirements and restart the C-Gate IoT Connector .

Connection via the company network

Precondition: DHCP server is active in the company network.
  1. Read the MAC address on the label and enter it into your DHCP server (see figure 1 and 2).
  2. Connect the IoT Connector to your network via Ethernet cable. The corresponding connection options are shown in figures 1 and 2.
  3. Call up the address of the IoT Connectorin the web browser. This consists of http:// and the IP address assigned in the company network.
    Example: http://192.168.8.14
  4. Log in with the user data printed on the label.
  5. Configure the network settings according to your requirements and restart the C-Gate IoT Connector .
Figure 1: Connect the Ethernet cable to the PC coupling on the control cabinet or directly to the IoT Connector inside the control cabinet with connection/port 1 (ETH1). The label is located on the IoT Connector.
Figure 2: Connect the Ethernet cable to the connector/port X77 on the back of the QINEO. The label is located below the connection.

Standard configuration of the C-Gate IoT Connector s on delivery

  • Port 1 (ETH1): DHCP and substitute IP address
  • Port 2 (ETH2): 192.168.1.100/24

Connection with the C-Gate IoT Hub

Prerequisite: C-Gate IoT Hub is installed and available in the network.
  1. Configure the IoT Hub address on the IoT Connector and restart the IoT Connector.
  2. Make sure that the connected units are set up and - if started - displayed as online.
  3. Check on the web interface of the IoT Hub in the device view whether the connected devices are set up and - if started - displayed as online. If not, restart the IoT Hub.
